I did supermoto school this last weekend up in Redding. It was super hot, but totally fun. I think I'm a sumo convert now. I'll probably go again in October over at Prairie city.

SM Tires/Tubes

I have DR650SE, getting sumo wheels sometime in the next week, new tires because they will be needed. The rims are from procycle.us (excel or sun rims etc etc).

What tires am I allowed to run? I know the DR swing arm will not fit a 160. I've heard a lot about tubes, but googling supermoto tires, most tires are still radial.

What tires/tubes do you like?

Well we broke the rules this morning and had a serious conversation in the chat box, but it was so much good stuff that I wanted to put it up here. We were talking about converting a dualsport for the street. The format is kindof shit, but it's the best I could do.

Most likely I'll be trading my trackbike for an 08 610sm. I've been wanting something else to ride on the street and do some baby dual sporting, a SM seem to fit the bill. Im sure I'll miss the 600, but Im sure the 610 will be just as fun on the track.

So what do you guys think?

I have recently picked up a Very Stock 07 XR650R. It is plated and has DOT tires right now. I would however like to get a Supermoto conversion Kit. Or Pick up some VERY Lightly used Wheels,hub,rotor,sprocket and fender piece by piece.

Having only owned Yamaha YZF variants I've never spent enough time on a Sumo to understand why you guys do this? I've always been taught to apply weight to the foot peg on the inside of the corner; if you're hanging your foot off I can't see how this is accomplished. I'll get my foot off when I'm riding dirt but on the street, the few times I've been on a supermoto, I've always ridden it like a sport bike.
