Adaptive cruise control standard! https://www.msn.com/en-us/autos/mot...th-radar-system/ar-BB1d9we5#image=BB1d9yxX|11
KTM is quickly becoming the leader in high tech bikes and a direct competitor to BMW. I like where it's going. Too bad they cost so damn much. Have you seen the new Speed Triple 1200 RS?! Sexy bike but starting at $18,300 is above my pay grade.
The new BMW R1250RT is also getting adaptive cruise, tbh I'd think I'd rather have that than the KTM...
Honestly I'd rather have the super duke than the super adventure. What's the BMW equivalent? S1000xr maybe? After riding a tiger 36000 miles (with 99% of them on the street) I've found that while I like the idea of an adventure bike, I just don't ride off road much. I want a bike that's fun on road and will do the occasional gravel road. That's any bike if you're brave enough.
S1000XR is the one, if only it had a belt or shaft drive for lazy folks like me! And maybe also slightly better fuel mileage, I think it gets like 35 mpg? I've been spoiled by my F800GT averaging 50-60 mpg...
A fair tradeoff I suppose. To be honest, I would feel a little scared with 180hp at my disposal on a motorcycle, lol. An R1250RS or RT would probably be more up my alley ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
You might be surprised at how smooth the power delivery can be on a new high horsepower bike. I've got a 2018 GSX-R1000R that exceeds 180hp, but it's literally the smoothest bike that I've ever owned. Sometimes I scratch my head thinking the bike is holding back....until I look at the speedometer and realize how fast the reading actually climbed. Now don't get me wrong, if you punch it she'll pin you into the saddle. But between the electronics and a responsible rider it can also be incredibly docile.
[QUOTE="...I want a bike that's fun on road and will do the occasional gravel road. That's any bike if you're brave enough.[/QUOTE] so like my old GSXR750 taking Yankee Jim from Foresthill to Colfax....never again. haha
Mike get the Tenere 700 and save $5-10k over any other adv bike! Haha it's around the same price new as an old used GS.
