Looks like it's a washout issue. The BDR site seems hopeful that it'll be open again when it normally opens for the summer.
So Aug 5-9 or 12-16 this year? Usual road is listed as open as of Apr 30. https://www.mendocinocounty.gov/departments/transportation/road-closures-and-delays I'm up for the lost coast or the first few days of the norcal.

MMMMmm...might have to bow out as I waiting for confirmation of when to go to a test lab in Canada for design testing of some components and it looks like either first or second week of August and if delayed, would be week after and I cannot miss it as my boss is handling a different facility at the same time.
That's a bummer but no worries, we'll do it another time! I'm going to scout it next week so we have more intel than last time!

We just got back from it yesterday. It's a good route, but I have my notes on how to maximize it. The whole thing is doable in 3 long days but finding a camping spot last minute can be an issue.
